Part of the Irabbagast Records inauguration in 2012, Unhinged was co-released with I Don't Hear Nothin' but the Blues Volume 2. The albums both feature stellar casts of musicians as well as high energy improvisation and group interaction, but Unhinged focuses on Irabagon's tenor saxophone influences and pays tribute to them, including Dewey Redman, John Coltrane, Arnette Cobb and many more. The many styles represented here all influenced Irabagon's improvisational and compositional approach, and the ridiculously-great ensemble (featuring Ralph Alessi, Jacob Sacks, John Hebert and Tom Rainey as well as guest appearances by Eivind Opsvik, Mike Pride and the Outright! Jazz Orchestra) all get their turns to shine.

Unhinged received a rare 5 Star Masterpiece rating in Downbeat Magazine and was listed in several year end top albums of the year polls and it is finally being made available here on Bandcamp.
